To Councilor Tyrell

Councilor Tyrell,

You may or may not know that the Spellguard is allocating a substantial priority to the handling of the plague that is lingering in Sanctuary. The disease, the symptoms, and the treatments and cures themselves are being diligently tested and experimented upon for the sake of being able to better understand and fight this affliction. Resources are being pooled from many locations, and it has been brought to my attention from the citizens that book was recovered that may be helpful in our efforts. Thusly, the Spellguard request that this book be delivered to the Tower as soon as time allows so that no further delay in ending this plague is had.

Our coordination is imperative.

- Executor Strife of the Order of the Spellguard Mages

A copy of the relevant sections are sent over, including the information that the Rotting Death was the name given to a short-lived plague that laid waste to several Dales several centuries ago. The book suggests that the plague was in some way connected to the god of rot and decay, Moander. The plague was eventually managed through quarantine and some sort of curing elixir provided by a local druid. Little other information is available.
