How about a d.m post only sticky thread (just the one) that mentions when the next prelude is being scheduled and which d.m is doing it, if it's full or not.
Sticky: Next Prelude Details
The d.m running it could then edit it to change details as they change.
If theres more than one prelude coming up the thread will have multiple posts , one for each prelude coming up. As preludes get completed they are removed from the thread. (and locked down below where the information and player interest data is stored as is happening now)

No, I mean a sticky within that forum at the top which mentions exactly when the next one is, who's doing it.
So it's like a prelude one stop thread, you can go there read that see if anything is coming up.
If nothings been scheduled or there are more player spots open then you can read down into the rest of the sub-forum as normal.

sounds like an alright suggestion to me... all it needs is someone to 'moderate' the preludes forum and maintain a sticky thread (Upcoming Prelude Summary) that contains posts along the lines of:
Prelude Name:
Basic Premise:
Prelude Date/Time (UTC): (include a link to timeanddate.com)
DM Interested/Confirmed:
Players Interested/Confirmed:
All discussion regarding the prelude would remain in its original thread, and when times are confirmed and DMs confirmed then the post would be updated by said moderator.
edit: ps. I'm happy to be moderator of the prelude forum and do this since I seem to be able to pop into the forums pretty regularly, even if I haven't been logging in that much.
