Windows XP - reinstalling without the disk

I've a few questions and any help would be apprciated.

I have Windows XP Home Edition that came with my computer when I brought it. Recently, I've accumulated a large number of viruses that constantly reinstall themselves on my computer because there's one that spawns them in the system. I need to reinstall windows yet I do not have the CD. Is it possible to reinstall windows without the CD and if I do reinstall, does it delete all the files in my registry.

Thank you in advance

In short, no, that is not possible. I suppose you could "borrow" a version of a "friend on the internet", burn it out and install from that, then restore your registry and settings with a ghost.

have you tried a system restore? try and find a restore point before the date you started getting all these virus's if you have'nt

You should contact the company you bought your PC from and demand they hand over the windows CD. If windows comes with the computer, they should supply a CD as well. If they refuse, contact Microsoft and report them. . . or simply threaten to do so.
