The False Maalgor My account of my fight with Intryzz's thrall:

Earlier that day, Irulan Celestia had told the story of Baelister's defeat at Maalgor's hands in the Pyrimo Arena. She presumably was told the story by Maalgor, and admitted this to me. Previously, I had already battled with Maalgor, with Rollo Stoneshield's aid, and caused him to flee to the Pyrimo.

After her tale, Irulan told me that Maalgor had issued a challenge to me, to meet him in the Pyrimo. I don't know whether her words were true or not.

I traveled to the Pyrimo and left a note for Maalgor, accepting the challenge.

Later, I traveled once again towards the Pyrimo. Standing before the portal leading to the lair, Ordinant Lathae caught up with me, attempting to talk me out of the challenge. Meriam Mayna was also there. While we spoke, one of the Illithid's thralls came out of the portal, greeting me by name and inviting me to come to the arena to fight Maalgor.

I did so, and defeated him in the fight.

I took his armored corpse and carried it from the Pyrimo. Before we reached the city, we stopped to remove whatever implants might be intact on Maalgor's body. However, on removing his helmet, we found it was not Maalgor, but another of Intryzz's half-orc thralls, filled with a large number of implants. We destroyed the implants and I eventually brought the body to rest in the Mausoleum. As we reentered town, we heard Archibald's proclamation about Maalgor's death, and then encountered you.

Corpse Blight

The disease I spoke to you of looks like a blight that would normally occur on plants. However, it is corpse blight, and instead affects both dead and living flesh. I didn't attempt to remove it by spells, however I found that the corpses wouldn't stay lit on fire for long.

Another concern is a man in Lower selling meat I believe was cut from the bodies of the dead. This'll only spread the contagion faster.

I'll do further research. If a moanderite is found, I'd like to speak with him, myself having some knowledge pertaining to their order.

I think this is a serious threat.
