Honorable Spellguard,
As you are aware, there is a half-orc priest that is a murderer and is assassinating my kin. I have met this foul beast in combat, and would like some advice on how to counter his diabolical use of magics. There is a bounty on his head, and citizens of Sanctuary are free to attack him on sight to effect his capture.
He seems to have a nearly limitless supply of darkness spells. When this is in effect, it is impossible to target him with spells designed to strip him of the evil blessings he receives from his dark patron. Is there a way to prevent or counter this tactic? Would the casting of a light spell cancel his spell? Would the rods of light sold by some merchants affect this darkness? Would the more powerful spell of permanent light be effective in this capacity?
You may reach me at the Rock Bottom Inn with this greatly appreciated information,

Faenor Rollo Stoneshield,
When confronting this individual have a wand of dispel magic ready and come prepared with the spell known as "Ultravision". The dispel magic will cancel out his enchantments and "Ultravision" will allow your vision to penetrate his darkness. Should you be unable to find an item that enables such vision, then a wand of dispel magic should be able to dispel the darkness, though this may take up to three attempts to do so.
I am unsure of your capabilities so I cannot intelligently comment furthur on recommendations of combat.
To assist you in your attempts on Maalgore, I will be willing to craft you a wand of dispel magic at the minimal cost of 2900 coins. Alternatively, I will also offer lesser dispel magic at 1200 coins, but quite obviously the lesser dispel will be less effective.
I wish you best in your endeavors,
