[Missive for Melrick, Toboerksi Estate]

[Carried in a stained envelope, the letter is delivered by a grubby young boy clutching a golden coin in his other hand.]

Tane referred me to you regarding payments for that rough business in Lower with Whitecloak.

Have a thousand coins awaiting me next time I visit your ever so Knightly estate.

Eamon, The Pissing Crone

[Melrick rips up the letter and then writes back.]

Eamon,

I should have you beaten for your insolence. First and foremost, you were of little help and the job could have been done with out your assistance. Secondly, you spent the entire time you were there complaining. Third, I am not sure what you managed to rip from the bodies of the fallen. Forth, at the trial I had to stand for killing those who would assassinate me, I did not mention your name - which could have resulted in your execution. Fifth, you did not accompany us back to Upper Sanctuary with Whitecloak - and therefore he got away. Had you been there, and completed the job, he might be dead now. Not still roaming free. And finally sixth, since Whitecloak is roaming free he is seeking revenge on us all. That includes you.

I will give you 250 gold coins, but not a coin more. If you want the rest you are to bring me Whitecloak's head. If you are capable of killing him I will grant you 1,500 gold coins for your service. Perhaps more if he is brought to me alive.

Signed, Sir Melrick, Knight of House Toboerski

[Another bedraggled child ferries a new letter to the estate, beating a hasty retreat once the note is laid at the door]

Perhaps all those blows you received during the altercation dulled your Knightly wits. While you and your squires were busy with the unarmoured Whitecloak I'd already felled one of his, and was keeping another at bay.

Send those boys of yours for a visit if you want, you know where to find me. It seems to me those lickspittle bastards could do with a proper lesson in arms.

I'll have whats owed, even if I have to take it myself.

[Though not signed, it appears Eamon has gone to the trouble of spitting onto the parchment]
