Politics and the English Language by George Orwell, written 1946. I read this the other day and started reading it over and over; partly because of how I see words and euphemisms being used in the current political climate, but I could never point my finger to the problems as well as this essay did and it was written so long ago. And partly because politics plays a big role in EfU; it's interesting to see some of the most successful EfU politicians get away with breaking many of Orwell's rules. Lastly because it contradicts everything I was taught in high school. In college I had to adopt a similar writing style as to what Orwell espouses in order to do well in my papers. If you read anything, check out his examples in the beginning, they're awesomely bad.
I like this essay.
Orwell is ~amazing~! While I haven't read this one, but I'll be sure to when I'm less busy.

I don't think your teacher will notice anything if you hand this in. I mean, how smart are teachers anyways? I hear an extreme grade coming your way.
