Wildshape

I don't know if this is plausible but in the sense that barbarians get fast movement, shouldnt at least one of the animal wildshapes get a fast movement feat upon transformation. I know haste is too abusable but maybe a 15% increase in speed considering that most animals are faster than any of the normal races anyway? Just throwing it out there but I think it would work.

That would only really be acceptable if we actually gave animals and creatures increased rates too. That would likely result in lots more deaths as people running away were run down.

I approve!

Well then, more speedy monsters to run people down and kill them, coming right up!

I think that threading down this path might have several dire / interesting consequences down the line. If we start to add to Deep Hound speed, Flying creature speed etc., we might have to decrease halfling/gnome/dwarf speed to set the record straight. It is such in the standard rules anyway. And then, the next step is to decrease speed in armor, which would deduct from 90% of the server's combatant population. How about that?

Personally, I can see how it could add flavor, but I cannot see the full effect of such drastic changes clearly at this point, so my immediate notion would be -no-.

P.S. -You gonna d00ble nerf the amored dwarves, yoo suckaz?!!1

As much as I'd personally like to see all of this in effect, I don't think it will happen.

Ibeholder P.S. -You gonna d00ble nerf the amored dwarves, yoo suckaz?!!1

Actually, dwarves in plate don't get another movement restriction

Seems like a realism VS fun VS balance thing here too. Do we want druids having 150% speed when they morph into panthers?

I'd say no.

Not 150% speed. That would be crazy. 15% was my suggestion. Just to make animals faster which they are and yet not make it that animals would dominate everything with there speed.

biggest issue here, I think, is balance. It would give a new advantages to certain classes/races/....species that were not intended, and not small ones at that, conciderable ones.

I'd be in favour of animals being faster than people only if you were also possible to hide (i.e. not have them know exactly where you were at all time) You could argue that the animals can smell you so you couldnt hide, but I'd counter argue that you can put yourself in a place the animal cant get to or use other smells to confuse their senses. (or even throw some other food to them to change their interest in you)

I'd certainly not be against 4 legged animals having the same speed increase as a barbarian has. (and certain morphed forms of druids having it as well)

I believe some animals are already faster than PCs. They surely know how to reach out and touch you.

Almost positive that the dragazhar flies faster than you run!
