Counciler Robes.

Just came to mind, as being a counciler is very risky, would it be possable if any spellguard agents where teleported to the robes location once the robe was hit or damaged in any way, npc or pc's if there are any online, or is this a matter to be discussed with the spellguard IC.

I fully support an army of Agents being summoned to a Councillor as soon as they were hit by anyone.

Assassinating (or mugging) a Councillor should, after all, be entirely out of question.

How about a Premonition and Spell Resistance (Lvl 20) setting off if someone strikes a Councillor?

Hmm, Epic Mage Armor, yeah throw that one in too.

You'd probably have to ask the Spellguard about it in-game, but either way I doubt that'll happen.

Firstly, it's abusable. Think about a Councillor questing, and getting the entirity of the Spellguard to teleport into the level 2-3 quest area (as an extreme example).

Secondly, the Spellguard's IC policy on magic use in the city should say why it's unlikely.

Thirdly, do the Spellguard even have that level of magical ability to craft it?

Lastly, do all the Councillors want to know that the Spellguard can, at any time, teleport to their sides with weapons drawn? Admittedly, their budget might go through a bit more easily if they could ...

who would want to assassinate higgy anyway?

meh, although the idea is -ok-, i think that's the role of councillor is to hire bodyguards, since they all have a budget for that. If you wish to save that money and travel more risky, your choice.

you could always create in game a special tactic squad, which is cover protection of the councillors i.e. following the councillors in stealth or invis at all time, and when they see trouble, it looks as if "they" appear around the councillor.

hmmm, covert special tactic squad.. sounds good.

I've not seen the Councilor Robes in a while, but making them a bit more powerful, and able to protect a councilor seems like a worthwhile suggestion.

edit: apparently they already do something awesome. suggestion revoked :P

The robes were recently improved to do various things this last election cycle. What those things are should be learned IG.

Well I think the level of power suggested here is way too much. I mean, this is Sanctuary after all. An assassination attempt is likely to involve one or two individuals - not an entire group of eight.

Entering the political life increases your risk of being assassinated. You earn powerful enemies. That's just the way the world works. The more power you get, the more enemies that you receive. Eventually you hit a tipping point, where the number of enemies you have outweigh the number of allies you have.

If you enter the political arena too soon, then it is likely you will have more enemies than allies, and it should be the character's job ICly to try and change that. After all, that's part of the fun of being a politically active character.

The robes were recently improved ICly. If you want them further improved, pursue it ICly. OOC arguments (that's too powerful! political life should be risky!) really have nothing at all to do with it.

I will point out though, the robe's improvements only help you when you are wearing it. If you throw on some platemail to go questing, you are on your own.

I assumed this was all sarcasm?
