The Road To Redemption - Gavin Arnimanner

Entry 1 (9-27-06)

Most of the events prior to my arrival in Sanctuary are a blur to me. There are only a few memories that stick. The death of my friend at my hands in Arabel and the loss of my paladinhood, finding Ana and killing that bastard Marikson, and the attack on our caravan.

I'd come to think of Ana as my daughter after all we'd been through. We were off to start our new life in Amn...and the next thing I know, our caravan was beset by Mind Flayers and their Thralls. The caravan guards could do little as their minds were shredded by the Mind Flayers and their bodies broken by Thralls. I managed to slay a few thralls but watched in horror as Ana was carried off by a Mind Flayer, screaming. I could feel a presence in my mind as I ran towards Ana and the beast, and by then it was too late.

The last thing I remember before arriving at Sanctuary is Ana being carried through the gates of a city being raided by dark skinned figures and someone telling me to run...

I have now been in Sanctuary for sometime...I hate this place with a passion, but I have made a few friends. A paladin of Jergal named Castor and a Priest of Tempus named Artorious. I consider both of these men close allies and hope they feel the same way.

I have also met with a local group of Hoarrans who call themselves the Justicars. Meeting and speaking with them brought up painful memories and the loss of my paladinhood...My punishment for my crimes was ten blows from a hammer and I must bear the wounds until the Justicars see fit...Funny...the pain almost feels...satifying...

*a bruised and battered Gavin closes his journal and groans as he lies in bed and falls asleep only to be troubled by intense nightmares*

Entry #2 (10-3-06)

I have finally been redeemed in Hoar's eyes. At least enough to be granted his boons as myself and my fellow Hoarrans cleansed the temple of the evil that so infested it's walls. I felt Hoar's embrace myself as he called me back into the fold while I stood beside his statue. I am now a Harbinger of Doom. Myself and my fellow Harbingers must now move to make Lower Sanctuary a better place for the people.

Today, two of my fellow Harbingers informed me that a plague was coming to Sanctuary. After hearing this, I sought out a Talonite I had met before. I cornered him and questioned him, but he revealed little to me. I tried to question him further, but the dog escaped me. I also need to get my arrogance in check...It only seems to earn me more enemies...Two suspicious men that I questioned may now be after me. Baurus was one of the names...I'd best watch my back now.

Still no sign of Ana...
