Greetings everyone.

Hi, new here. :D

I must say, I've been reading through your forums and this server looks very interesting. Props to those behind it and the community of course.

I've yet to enter the world and I see you are missing a diety I wished to play on the server.

Does one absolutely need one of the ''Scripted'' dieties of the server? Or can one go without one- knowing one has the right diety...

Anyhow, here they go.

...............

Da'Nogra

Great-One, The Axe, The Render, Elf-Slayer (Greater Deity)

Symbol: Large battleaxe dripping with blood. Alignment: Chaotic Evil Portfolio: Orcs, chaos, battle, warriors, conquest, brutality Worshippers: Barbarians, fighters, shaman, orcs. Cleric Alignments: CE, CN, LE, NE Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Evil, Orc, War Favored Weapon: "Renderer" (Battle axe)

Da'Nogra (da'noh'gra) is a powerful greater god who thirsts for battle and thrives on watching his enemies die - all in the name of his might and glory. The Great-One believes in bringing the battle to the enemy. He is the essence of chaos and brutality. Da'Nogra rewards the strong and punishes the weak. The Great-One has intolerance for failure and is quick to judge.

Da'Nogra does not seek world or racial domination - he simply wishes to see his enemies living in fear of his orcs and/or brutally slain by their hand. The only exception is elves - the Great-One seeks genocide on this race.

The worship of Da'Nogra typically does not take place in any structure or on any regular interval. Clerics of Da'Nogra, called shaman, will perform rituals and/or ceremonies before any battle. Orcs are instilled with a sense that they must constantly prove their worth to Da'Nogra - and the only place to prove their merit is on the battlefield. Some day when the orcs' mortal bodies fail, the worthy souls will be taken to another plane to fight one of Da'Nogra's other wars. Those souls not worthy are discarded.

When engaging any foe, orcs will shout out their battle cry, "Nograaahhh", to remind them the kill they are about to make is being claimed for Da'Nogra. Shaman will always fight side-by-side with the warriors of clan.

Shaman of Da'Nogra pray for their spells at dusk and always wait for the last remnants of any sunlight to fully vanish. Shaman are not intermediaries between Da'Nogra and the orcs - they simply serve to be a constant reminder that certain death will befall any who do not worship the might and glory that is the Great-One. During the down time that the orcs are in search of their next great battle, shaman will perform various ceremonies and recite lore to remind the orcs of the power of Da'Nogra and why every last elf that walks upon the lands must be destroyed.

History/Relationships: When Da'Nogra first emerged into the material plane he found it lacking of creatures with ambitions of conquest, brutality and chaos. Da'Nogra had never created a race before so he tried a few varied experiments which he was not greatly satisfied with. Born into the world with these experiments were trolls, kobolds, bugbears, and various other insignificant monstrous races.

The first major race Da'Nogra created was the ogre. Created somewhat in his image, the ogres were large, powerful creatures whose mere sight would instill fear in their enemies. Sadly, the ogres significantly lacked intelligence and it was clear that they would never become an organized menace in the lands.

Da'Nogra then created the hobgoblin. They were a ruthless and clever warrior race capable of asserting their presence upon the lands. As they organized themselves and became the masters of their domains they found that they did not need the worship of Da'Nogra to accomplish their goals. Da'Nogra's chaotic influences and seemingly meaningless rituals hindered the progression of the hobgoblins. They rejected Da'Nogra.

Next came the goblins -- small yet vicious. Da'Nogra knew that with their insignificant stature they would always look for guidance and assistance from their maker. One of the most remarkable abilities Da'Nogra gave the goblins was their rapid ascent to maturity. Quickly goblins were spawning across the lands with their numbers more than making up for their lack of strength. The goblins became impulsive and brash though. Most goblins only ever saw one major battle or skirmish in their life. Although the goblins were quickly able to replace the numbers of their fallen kin, their replacements lacked combat experience. With no combat veterans in the race, the goblins were little more than a mass of thugs who were slaughtered by their opponent's superior equipment and use of battle tactics.

The fourth and final of Da'Nogra's major races was the orc -- a tough, ferocious, unrelenting, race. Orcs seemed to have all the strengths of the Great-One's three former races. They were given the ogre's strength, size and fearsomeness, the hobgoblin's keenness and the goblin's rapid breeding abilities. Each of these traits was tempered though - ensuring the innate threat that these abilities exhibited in the past would not again be weaknesses.

The orcs poured forth across the lands, seeking to kill all others they encountered in an endless war of conquest. Orcs who worship Da'Nogra believe they are the superior race and all others should either be slain by them for the glory of the Great-One or be their slaves.

The birth of the orcs dates back centuries to the birth of the elves. When elves were set within the lands they quickly noticed the orcs' savage and destructive bent on destroying all others. The orcs stood for everything that the elves opposed. The elves took it upon themselves to be the core defenders of their lands and swore oaths to rid the orcish menace. The elven deities also struck out and moderately wounded Da'Nogra which fuelled a great anger within him creating desire for the total destruction of the elven race. The war between elves and orcs has continued to be waged for centuries.

Dogma: Prove yourself to Da'Nogra in battle - slay as many enemies as you can to gain his notice and assure your place in the next war upon passing. Punish or destroy the weak. Show your enemy your full brutality, strength and superiority - make him scream in pain as he is rendered apart. --------------

Kurbag

The White Orc, Sunaxe, The Betrayer (Minor Deity)

Symbol: Axe Silhouette over a Sun. Alignment: Chaotic Good Portfolio: Good, strength, battles, sun, non-evil Orcs Worshippers: Orcs and Half-Orcs Cleric Alignments: Any Good Domains: Good, Strength, War, Battles, Sun, White Orcs Favored Weapon: “Sunaxe” (Great axe)

Kurbag is a minor deity who is largely unknown to the rest of the world. His worship is, at this time, relegated to those orcs and half-orcs who have become disenchanted with the way of the orc. They often seek lives among other races, or sometimes they seek to form their own clans and tribes where they can live without being molested by self-righteous knights, or being used as fodder for megalomaniac, would-be conquerors. Kurbag, for all of his desire to lift the race of orcs above their current station, is still very much an orc himself. So, what he seeks for his followers is that they channel their natural rage and aggression into causes that will benefit others as well.

The worship of Kurbag usually takes the form of daily prayers. Short and direct, in true orc fashion. Shamans do perform rituals to Kurbag, but often are content with using his power to heal and help orcs come to a better understanding of the wider world.

Priests of Kurbag pray for their spells at dawn. Priests and followers of Kurbag strive to overcome their racial limitation of Light-Sensitivity by forcing themselves to adapt. Priests strive to be a constant reminder that there is more to the life of an orc then conquest and destruction.

History/Relationships: It is said that Kurbag was once a powerful orc warchief who, despite his many victories, had suffered many setbacks due to the "masters" he had often served. Growing tired of this never-changing cycle, Kurbag traveled to the ethereal plane and challenged several of the gods themselves, seeking some way to help orcs elevate themselves above their present station. Though he was defeated at every turn, his perseverance and conviction won him the support of Tyr, who sponsored Kurbag in his quest for deification. In areas near orc settlements, or where half-orcs are found in larger numbers, small shrines to Kurbag can often be found beside the temples of Tyr.

The Orcish pantheon universally views Kurbag as a betrayer, and will seek his destruction at every turn. It is only Kurbag's relationship with Tyr that keeps them in check.

Dogma: Prove yourself to all you meet by showing that an orc isn't always just a stupid brute, but a living being, worthy of respect and trust.

Unfortunately, even though the setting is in a non-canon area of the Underdark, I'm pretty sure the DMs try to keep to Forgotten Realms canon as much as they can.

The two gods you mention above, while very well thought out and an excellent example of player made Lore for use in Pen and Paper DnD, they aren't part of the Forgotten Realms Pantheon and probably not valid for the server.

Hopefully you can find another (from the enormous pantheon) that suits your character concept just as well.

AND....

Welcome to the Underdark.

First, welcome.

Second, the fact that you've chosen non-canon gods on top of being ORC gods is a double shot against you.

The folks who run this server, have said that while it's possible to apply to play an Orog (deep orcs) on this module, it's A.) gonna need to be applied for, B.) not recommended that you play an application-only race till you've gotten familiar with the module and c.) not likely that you'll get to play an Orog unless you've got one helluva great concept and reason for playing an Orog.

Now if you were thinking of making a half-orc that's got one of these gods, then I'd say just pick one thats accepted on this module.

Sorry to be so blunt, but that's just life in EfU :D

Again, welcome.

There is a difference between being supported deities, and being able to play them as deities. I'm sure it would be fun to ~pretend~ that they were your characters deity, and try and gather a following around them, while the deity doesn't exactly exist. Since it is the underdark, and most people don't know who -all- of the deities are anyway, it would be interested to see what might happen.

Welcome to the server. We generally do ask that characters select a canon deity (particularly if they're playing a spellcaster). There are quite a few canon deities already and it would require an application and a very strong argument for us to decide to add more.

the only thing being he dident mention Orog's at all his topic was entirely about trying to get a few non cannon deities made as far as i could tell

welcome any way and i hope your stay in the underdark is just as dark and forboding as mine is... which is good :P

Congrats on finding EfU! It takes everyone a while to get accustomed to this server, but the rewards are well worth the time and effort. The community is mature and intelligent for the most part, and the DMs rock. If you came up with these deities on your own--kudos on your creativity. As Hyper said, it could be interesting to play a non-canon god but you won't be able to cast spells as a cleric, druid, ranger, or paladin. Anyways... Welcome!
